Your invitation to celebrate opening of new Uckfield shop

Saffron and Sycamore, a shop offering ‘stylish accessories for you and your home’,  opened yesterday in New Town, Uckfield.

The shop, which was let by agents Oldfield Smith & Co, and is in premises adjoining the offices of Magnet magazine on the corner of High Street and Framfield Road which have been refurbished after many years standing empty.

An opening celebration is to be held on Friday and Saturday, April11 and 12, with nibbles and fizz available for customers, along with a 10% discount and free gifts for people spending more than £30.

Adele Trathan, who with her husband Ollie, owns Magnet, and Saffron and Sycamore, said she was pleased to have completed the move to the new building.

She added: “This is a very exciting time and we have enjoyed seeing people go past watching as work has progressed. We look forward to welcoming people in to have a look around.”

Aspirational goods

Stock ranges from statement pieces such as a pair of giant candle holders, to furniture, Frith sculptures and scarves and handbags.

Adele said: “There is an aspirational feel to the goods we have sourced but all are surprisingly affordable with prices starting from £4.50.”

There is also an area for the display of work by local artists and craftspeople. Featuring at the moment is jewellery by Jewellery with Attitude who use silver and recycled glass beads to create unique pieces of work.

Also on display is pottery from Matthew Bayman of Blackboys and work by cow painter Veronica Van Eijk who lives on the Pevensey Levels and is inspired by the herd at a neighbouring organic dairy farm.

Saffron and Sycamore will be open six days of the week with opening hours Monday to Friday being from 9.30am to 5pm and on Saturday from 9.30am to 4pm.
