The report says its commitment to spending with small and medium enterprises and local companies continues.
Based on 2017/18 data it says:
80%, or £21.59 million, of the council’s spend is located within the South East (Sussex, Kent and Surrey), and 13% or £3.40 million remains within the district (compared with £16% in 2016/17)
49.3% of the council’s suppliers are located within the South East with 28.05% being based in Wealden, and
65.31%, or £17.6 million of the council’s expenditure was with small and medium enterprises, which is in excess of the Government’s target of 25%.
This represents a 40%, or £5.02 million, increase from the previous financial year.
In the same period 86% of spend within the district boundary was with SMEs.
