Wheel-changing driver might hold clue to Maresfield death crash

Police investigating the death of a motorcyclist at Maresfield on Friday are appealing for the driver of a car who was changing a wheel near the scene around the time to contact them.

Kerry-Ann Theron, 30, of Manor End, Uckfield, died in Southampton General Hospital on Friday night after falling from her Yamaha motorcycle whilst riding north along The Straight Half Mile at Maresfield, shortly after 7am.

Inspector Steve Grace said: “We would like to speak to the driver of a dark- coloured Ford, believed to be a Focus, who was seen changing a wheel on the Straight Half Mile at about 7.15am on Friday. We believe that they may have vital evidence that could assist the investigation.

“If you are that driver or you saw them changing a wheel that morning, please call us on 101 or e-mail collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting Operation Westwood.”
