What’s on in the Uckfield area

Acts of Remembrance, a Macmillan Coffee Morning at SLM Toyota, and school open days … some of the events coming up in the Uckfield area.

SLM Toyota is holding a Macmillan Coffee Morning today and all are welcome to attend from 10am to enjoy a cuppa and cake and help raise funds for the charity.

Also today there’s an open day at St Mark’s Primary School in Hadlow Down. More school open day dates can be found here.

Tomorrow there’s an antiques, collectables and vintage fair at Bridge Cottage.

On Sunday acts of Remembrance include:

10am 11th Signals Regiment, 5 Squadron, Maresfield, march to Maresfield church for service of Remembrance.

10.45am Wreath-laying ceremony at the Eugene Seghers memorial in the grounds of the Highlands Inn.

11am Short service and firing of maroons at the War Memorial at Holy Cross Church, Uckfield.

Remembrance parade in Uckfield High Street followed by service at Holy Cross Church.

Uckfield Beacon Ceremony

On Monday a World War 1 Centenary Exhibition opens at Bridge Cottage and runs until Saturday, November 17.

On Wednesday there’s an Uckfield Bygones and Memories Coffee Morning at Bridge Cottage and on Thursday accountants Simmons Gainsford are holding a charity pub quiz night at The Highlands Inn.

Next weekend

A Debs Dancers costume fund-raising table top sale is to be held on Saturday, November 17 and on Sunday, November 18, there will be a tribute night to Freddie Mercury at Buxted Park Hotel.
