Wealden Lib Dems choose election candidate

Wealden Liberal Democrats have selected Giles Goodall as their prospective parliamentary candidate to fight the General Election on May 7.

Giles Goodall.

Giles, who was born and bred in Sussex, aims to bring his experience as an international civil servant to benefit Wealden if elected as local MP.

His priorities are more affordable housing for local people, a better public transport network in the constituency, and protecting green spaces.

With 15 years experience of working with the European Union, Giles wants to mobilise European funding and trading opportunities for local people and businesses:

“Wealden needs a strong and experienced voice in Parliament who’ll stand up for local peoples’ interests at Westminster.

“Only Liberal Democrats will stand up for the moderate majority, building a
stronger economy and a fairer society, where everyone has the chance to get
on in life.

“I look forward to working with the local Lib Dem team to represent Wealden

Giles Goodall grew up in Steyning, West Sussex, attending the local
secondary school. He graduated from Royal Holloway, University of London,
before winning a scholarship from the British Government to attend the
College of Europe in Bruges.

He has worked at the European Parliament, European Commission, and in the
private sector, and last year was one of the Liberal Democrats’ top
candidates for the South East region at the European elections.

Giles speaks three languages, is active on social media, and writes regular
columns for Liberal Democrat Voice, the Huffington Post, and Pink News.
