Wealden Covid-19 deaths total updated

The number of deaths due to Covid-19 in Wealden continues to decline.

Latest figures show that in the week-ending June 26, only one person died from Coronavirus.

They were living in a care home.

It takes the number of Covid-19 deaths in Wealden to 111.

The first death was recorded in week-ending March 20.

Peak week

Week-ending April 24 was the peak in Wealden when there were 21 deaths.

Since then the trend has been down, although there have been some weekly ‘bumps’ in the road.

Of the 111 people who have died from Coronavirus:

  • 57 of the deaths were in hospitals
  • 50 in care homes
  • 4 in an hospice.

A dataset maintained by this website, using Office for National Statistics (ONS) figures, shows that this year there have been 1,025 deaths in Wealden from all causes.

It means that the proportion of those deaths attributed to Covid-19 is 10.8 per cent.
