Wealden deaths where Covid-19 was a factor in the latest seven-day period were again in double figures, according to Office for National Statistics (ONS) data released yesterday.
The number of deaths was 11, down from 13 the previous week but a still a high total by weekly totals seen since the pandemic began in March.
The worst week was in April when 21 people died.
Ten of the latest deaths were in hospital and the other in the person’s home.
These figures include deaths that occurred up to December 1 but were registered up to January 9 and show the number of deaths involving coronavirus (Covid-19), based on any mention of Covid-19 on the death certificate.
There were 35 deaths from all causes (including Covid) in Wealden during the latest seven-day period.
