Covid-19

Lab-confirmed positive cases now include those identified by testing via Public Health England (PHE) / NHS hospital labs

AND

Historic data from testing in the community, including care homes.

Until July 2, when the data was reorganised, the statistics only included cases from PHE/NHS labs.

There has not been a recent surge in cases.

The rate per 100,000 inevitably increases as the number of positive tests goes up because the population is static.
