Uckfield estate agents Rowland Gorringe are celebrating their YouTube channel clocking up more than 20,000 views.
Sales manager Mike Symons said the channel was launched in October 2019 as an experiment but it is hugely successful and has been an important tool for property sales since the first lockdown.
Homes with values from £250,000 to £1.1 million have been sold thanks to virtual viewings and in some cases without the buyer having set foot on the premises.
Mike told Uckfield News: “For one couple moving back from abroad, the first time they physically went into the property was the day I handed over the keys.”
It was Mike and his colleague Jack Wade who launched the channel injecting humour into the mix while walking through the properties and having informative chats about them. They invite people to book a viewing should they like what they see.
It’s not only the buyers who are finding the virtual viewings useful but the sellers too because the people who eventually come to visit their homes tend to be those seriously interested in buying.
All Rowland Gorringe customers are offered the opportunity of having YouTube videos made free of charge. The estate agents are now getting 1,100 hits a month on the channel.
Mike says the property market has been booming since we came out of the first lockdown and now demand is outstripping supply so he would be pleased to hear from anybody considering selling.
Most popular homes are those for families with three or four bedrooms, detached or semi-detached, on all Uckfield estates.
In the villages people are looking for land and buyers are approaching Rowland Gorringe from Brighton, Hove, Tunbridge Wells, London, and beyond.
He says they are attracted by the proximity of the Ashdown Forest, country walks and larger gardens.
Mike adds that the extension of the stamp duty holiday is helping the market and with that running until the end of June there is still plenty of time to sell and buy and take advantage of that.
