One-hundred-year-old Violet Perrin has been out and about celebrating her birthday in style.
Violet, who has lived at Sheffield Park, for the past 60 years and in East Sussex all her life, celebrated the big day with parties at a pub in Nutley and at another in in Lewes.
Her granddaughter Amy said the centenarian has two sons Bob, who lives in Lewes and Tony who lives in New York. She has three grandchildren and two great grandchildren, all living in Sussex.
Amy says her grandmother has lived a full life, enjoying teaching millinery, travelling to many countries across the world and has been a member of the WI for 50 years.
“She remains an active part of the community, and after 40 years, still continues to make homemade goods and crafts at the weekly Newick country market,” said Amy who added that she still gets handmade gloves and socks from her grandmother every winter.
