A flood guard kicked in by vandals at Claire Davies Hairdressing salon shearing off side clamps in the process and making it useless against flooding.
Vandals have kicked in the top and sheared off the side clamps of a flood guard at premises in the Bell Walk Precinct, Uckfield.
Claire Davies, owner of Claire Davies Hairdressing, discovered the damage at her salon on Friday morning and said the barrier is now useless against flooding.
She told Uckfield News: “I’m lost for words. In these challenging times of businesses literarily trying to keep companies afloat why would anyone conceive to cause this blatant vandalism to property?”
She said CCTV was being retrieved and checked and she would be interested to hear from anybody who might have seen anything suspicious relating to the vandalism.
