Universal Dance to launch new musical theatre dance class

A new musical theatre dance class is to be offered by Universal Dance after Easter.

It will be run by Helen Heppell who is new to the organisation but has more than 20 years experience in musical theatre.

Tap and Jazz

Tap and Jazz will be the main disciplines but there will also be the chance to learn well-known choreographies from West End and Broadway shows.

A complimentary taster session is to be held at Fairwarp Village Hall on Monday, April 29, from 4-5.30pm and if you would like to book a place please email Universal Dance at info@universaldance.co.uk.

Helen will also be running a five-hour dance workshop on Saturday, March 30, from 10am to 3pm at Fairwarp Village Hall. This will include learning material from Mary Poppins and Shrek The Musical.

The new musical theatre class will complement a successful youth theatre headed by long-standing teacher Stephanie Kemp Delaney.

The youth theatre is open to all ages from four to 17 years and consists of a weekly two-hour session working towards a production each year.

The group has just put on The Wizard of Oz and is working towards Annie for later in the year.
