Student Josh Efford who was taken ill at the end of an exam at Uckfield Community Technology College (UCTC) is home.
College principal, Hugh Hennebry, said they were “exceptionally pleased” to say Josh was home, although “he will have to take it easy over the summer”.
He added: “I am sure you all join us in sending good wishes to him and his family. Thank you all so much for all your kind words and support during this very difficult time for the family.”
Josh suffered a cardiac arrest while at school. He had just finished a computing GCSE and was waiting to leave the room when he collapsed.
The air ambulance was called, although Josh was taken to hospital by road ambulance.
