Uckfield’s Louise Brownsey is British trampoline champion for her age group

Uckfield’s Louise Brownsey became British trampoline champion in the 15-16 age group at the weekend.

The Uckfield Community Technology College student, who trains with the Sky High Club at Fun Abounds on the Bellbrook Estate in town, was competing in the British championships at the Echo Arena in Liverpool when she won the title.

She beat the second placed trampolinist by 11.9 marks so it was a decisive win.

Louise also became 15-16 British Synchronised Trampoline Champion with a girl from Scotland, Katie Gallacher.

The next major competition is World Championships at the end of next year and Louise will have to qualify at trials before being selected to represent Great Britain, however there may be some opportunities for her to represent GB in some smaller ‘cup’ competitions before that.

Other Fun Abounds trampolinists also did well in the British Championships. Erifilly Heonos came fourth in the 13-14 age group, Ben Bradford was fourth in Double Mini Trampoline in nine to ten age group and Lily Robson came 12th in 13-14 age group.

Erifilly and Lily also came fourth in Synchronised in their age group.

This weekend more trampolinists from Fun Abounds will compete in National Development Pathway championships at Telford International.

They include Olivia Burvill-Patching, Daniel Bradford, Emma Van Zutphen and Abi Jaques.
