VE Day [Victory in Europe] marks the day when World War 2 in Europe came to an end in 1945.

The early spring bank holiday will this year be on Friday, May 8, to coincide with VE Day 75.

The early May bank holiday is usually on the first Monday of the month but the date was changed by the government so it coincides with the anniversary of VE Day.

Other bank holidays this year will be on their usual days.
