Uckfield town planners welcome Hartfield’s expansion scheme

The planned extension of Hartfield’s in to the next-door property in Uckfield High Street has been welcomed by members of Uckfield Town Council’s Plans Committee.

Councillors are telling the planning authority, Wealden District Council, that they welcome the application.

Documents with the planning application state the parade of shops where Hartfield’s is established is set back from other properties on the west side of the High Street and the aim is to make more use of the paved area outside the cafe for seating.

New bifold doors will be fitted so that the shop can be linked to the outside seating.

Chairman of the plans committee, Cllr Barry Mayhew, Independent, New Town, said it was good to see a local business thriving and expanding.

A decision on the planning application will be made by Wealden District Council
