Uckfield town clerk Holly Goring has completed a challenge she set herself to walk 100 miles during May to raise funds for Friends of East Sussex Hospices.

She has so far raised £610 for the hospices, more than three times as much as her original target of £200.

Holly started the challenge on May 7 and completed it last night. It took her just over three weeks and she was pleased to have done that while working full time.

She said: “I just want to say a big thank you to those who donated and supported such a fantastic cause. I really do appreciate it.

“There’s absolutely no pressure, as I recognise times are difficult for many right now, but if anyone does still wish to contribute the Just Giving page is still live, and I will be delivering the money I received offline, to the Friends of Sussex Hospices early next week.”
