Uckfield and Buxted railway stations have seen fewer passengers in the last year.
A decline has been recorded, halting an upward trend which has been particularly marked in recent years following the introduction of new diesel trains.
Station usage for 2015/2016 at Uckfield was 480,624 entries and exits, down from 552,364 the year before.
Station usage for 2015/2016 at Buxted was 133,062 entries and exits, down from 150,310 the year before.
The drop in passengers is attributed to lengthening of platforms between Uckfield and Hurst Green.
Station usage for 2015/2016 at Crowborough was 388,762 entries and exits, down from 399,962,364 the year before.
The platform lengthening work on the line which lasted until July saw the line closed between Uckfield and Crowborugh for a period with reduced services being run at other times.
The work was to accommodate longer ten-car trains.
The longer trains have eased over-crowding on services to and from Uckfield.
