Landslip causes disruption on the Uckfield Line

Uckfield rail line expected to resume normal working

Updated at 3.45pm Monday, February 17: The rail line between Uckfield and Oxted is expected to re-open for normal working tomorrow, Tuesday, February 18.

An emergency timetable was introduced last week following a landslip north of Oxted.

The resumption of normal working has been announced on the Southern website.

Updated at 9.30am, Monday, February 17: An emergency timetable, supplemented by buses, remains in operation between Uckfield and Oxted this morning.

Updated at 4.15pm, Friday, February 14: Line has reopened at Crowborough after a new landslip closed it temporarily.

Latest: 4pm Friday, February 14: An already bleak outlook for rail passengers on the Uckfield rail line has taken a further turn for the worse this afternoon after a deluge hit the area.

Rail services between Uckfield and Oxted have now been suspended due to a new landslip. It is believed to be in the Crowborough area.

Rail replacement buses have been ordered.

Further updated: 2.45pm, Friday, February 14: Southern has said today the emergency timetable, supplemented by buses will be in operation on Monday, February 17.

Updated, 1.45pm, February 11: Disruption set to last until at least Saturday, February 15, says Network Rail.There will be an hourly train service between Uckfield and Oxted.

Rail passengers from Uckfield and Buxted can expect a limited service over the next few days.

A landslip north of Oxted has halted through trains to London Bridge.

Train operator Southern said the line between Oxted and Woldingham was likely to remain closed for at least the “next few days”.

An amended train/bus timetable will operate until the repairs are complete.

There will be an hourly train service from Uckfield to Oxted, leaving Uckfield at 34 minutes past the hour. The first train was the 05.34, the last train will be at 23.34. All trains will call at all stations along the route with the exception on the 23.34 which will only call at Buxted, Crowborough, Eridge, Edenbridge Town to arrives at Oxted at about 00.07.

There will be an hourly train service from Oxted to Uckfield, leaving Oxted at 37 minutes past the hour. The first train was the 04.37, the last train will be at 23.37.All trains will call at all stations along the route.

Buses will operate between Redhill and Oxted, departing every 15 minutes from both Redhill and Oxted.

A half-hourly bus service will operate between Haywards Heath and Uckfield, departing from Haywards Heath at 15 and 45 minutes past the hour and from Uckfield on the hour and at 30 minutes past the hour.

It is not possible to run buses between Oxted and Woldingham because there is nowhere for vehicles to turn round at Woldingham.
