A 90-minute question time event will be held at Uckfield to talk about changes to maternity, in-patient paediatric and emergency gynaecology services in East Sussex.
The three East Sussex Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) have put in place the “Better Beginnings” public consultation programme, on future options for maternity, in-patient paediatric and emergency gynaecology services in the county.
To ensure the public are offered an independent forum through which they can question and actively engage with the key decision making bodies, and significant interested parties, Healthwatch East Sussex has organised three public meetings at Hastings, Eastbourne and Uckfield.
The one at Uckfield is on March 12 (7 to 8.30pm) at the Weald Hall in the civic centre.
Whilst this is a public event, the Weald Hall does have limited capacity. Confirm your seat now by registering at http://tinyurl.com/o8ot6gy, or call 0333 101 4007.
In a statement the Joint Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) said:
“We are encouraged that Healthwatch is arranging these events and offering an additional opportunity for the Better Beginnings consultation to be discussed in an independent forum.
Six options for the future
“The six options for the future of these services are the only ones we believe can ensure the high quality care for local people that we expect as GPs.
“We want as many people as possible to find out more about what we are proposing, ask us questions and tell us what they think.
“In addition to our own programme of consultation events, the Healthwatch Question Time sessions provide valuable opportunities for us to talk to local people about the future of these vital services.”
Six options are being considered. Read our earlier report here
There is a campaign to ensure the birthing centre at Crowborough is kept.
You can read the proposals in full at the consultation website http://www.betterbeginnings-nhs.net/ and complete an online survey and find details of a range of other Better Beginnings public drop-in events being held around the county.
