Uckfield pupils learn about house-building materials

Fifteen children from Holy Cross Primary School, Uckfield, toured the yard of Parker Building Supplies as part of a building project.

Manager Dave Chapman explained how the materials on show were used in the construction of houses. The youngsters, from Kangaroo class, then went to Parkers head office to watch a DVD and enjoy drinks and biscuits before heading back to school with a goodie bag.

Teacher Nicola Hill said: “They had a fantastic time and will use their visit as part of their project.”

Dave Chapman said it was great to see young children interested in the building materials being used to build houses of the future.
