Uckfield postal workers welcome MP Nus Ghani

Postal workers at the Uckfield Delivery Office welcomed Wealden MP Nus Ghani on a dawn visit on Friday.

She was show around the office by delivery office manager Paul Gander, and was introduced to postmen and women who are pulling out all the stops to sort and deliver mail in Wealden over the Christmas period.


The MP said in a press release afterwards: “At no other time is the hard work and dedication of postmen and women clearer than during the festive period.

“I thank them for the extraordinary lengths to which they go to ensure that Christmas cards and presents are delivered to loved ones on time, and for all they do year-round.

“I’ve just posted my Christmas cards, and everyone else should too as the clock is now ticking on final dates for posting before Christmas.”

Mr Gander said: “It was a pleasure to show Nusrat our Christmas operation and to hear her kind words of encouragement and support.

“We are extremely proud of our postmen and women for all their hard work during the Festive Season and for continuing our proud history of delivering Christmas mail.”

The last recommended posting dates for Christmas are:

  • Second Class – Tuesday, December 20
  • First Class – Wednesday, December 21
  • Special Delivery – Thursday, December 22
