Uckfield Line commuters have faced another lottery on the trains this week with a series of cancellations to peak-time trains.
Key trains to and from London Bridge have frequently been cancelled, leading to dreadful over-crowding on other services.
Some travellers said the crowding on board was so bad that other travellers were being left of the platforms.
It had also led to the exchange of angry words between passengers trying to get on trains and those already squashed in.
Last night, after a signal failure between London Bridge and East Croydon, passengers took out their frustration with train operator Southern on social media.
The situation was made worse when the train that did eventually run was terminated at Crowborough.
“It gets worse, then worse and then worse again. This isn’t a service,” said one.
Another said Southern was no longer “fit for purpose”.
A third posting: “Another eve of delays on Uckfield Line – and your website says good service. Cruel #southernfail.”
Some passengers were also messaging the Wealden MP, Nus Ghani, about the problems.
