Uckfield Line closures for rail viaduct works at Oxted

Uckfield Line trains will be disrupted this weekend while repairs are carried out on the Oxted viaduct.

The works will also continue for the next three weekends after that.

Closure details

Lines will be closed on the following dates when train services will not run, with buses linking to Purley station:

  • Saturday, June 20 – Sunday, June 21 (between South Croydon and Hurst Green)
  • Saturday, June 27 – Sunday, June  28 (between South Croydon and East Grinstead/Uckfield)
  • Saturday, July  4 – Sunday, July 5 (between South Croydon and East Grinstead/Uckfield)
  • Sunday July 12 (between South Croydon and East Grinstead/Uckfield)

THIS weekend,trains between London Bridge / Oxted and Uckfield will run between Hurst Green and Uckfield. Replacement buses will run between Purley and Hurst Green calling at Upper Warlingham and Oxted.

Oxted viaduct

The eight-arch viaduct carries railway lines over the A25 road and the River Eden.

Significant maintenance work has been planned such as steel and masonry repairs, as well as replacement of walkways.
