Uckfield Labour Party members will be campaigning in town on Saturday

Members of the Uckfield branch of the Wealden Constituency Labour Party will be campaigning in the town’s High Street on Saturday in support of the National Health Service.

It will be national ‘Care for the NHS’ campaign day and hundreds of Labour groups up and down the country will be highlighting issues facing the NHS because of austerity policies.

Chair of the Uckfield branch Gareth Looker said: “Labour believes that under the Tories our NHS is underfunded and understaffed. This has resulted in around 3.9 million people on waiting lists; 1.8 million people waiting four hours or more in A&E and one in four patients having to wait a week or more to see their GP.”

More information will be in flyers being handed out by campaigners on Saturday. Alternatively Sara Newman, chair of Wealden Labour Party can be contacted on 01892 861840.
