Uckfield is yarn-bombed

Uckfield has been yarn-bombed. If you visit the Luxford Field you will spot trees and a bench decorated with colourful crochet work.

Crocheted keys and hearts have also been dropped around town and the yarn-bomber – whose identity has not yet been revealed – says those who find them are welcome to keep them.

Clare Summons director of creativity at Uckfield Community Technology College said the work was part of an “amazing” young person’s Silver Arts project. She urged people to “Have a look and smile.”

The artist says on a poster: “Please leave the yarn bomb for the festival. I will remove it at the end and recycle as much of the wool as possible.

“Hidden around Uckfield there are hearts that have fallen off the Queen of Heart’s dress and keys which Alice has dropped. If you find any you are welcome to keep them.”
