Work on remodelling the car park at Uckfield Community Hospital is under way.
One of the main features is moving the bus stop closer to the entrance.
The old shelter has already been taken away.
The works will mean that there will be six fewer parking spaces than originally provided when the hospital opened in 1994.
However, those spaces are nowadays not accessible to drivers because they have been used for storage units.
Works may cause disruption to parking and are expected to last another ten weeks.
Uckfield Community Hospital is also home to the town’s Bird in Eye doctors’ surgery.
