Update, Sunday, July 15, 10.18am: The flood warnings are no longer in force.
Uckfield and Buxted are this evening on flood alert. The warning has been issued by the Environment Agency for the River Uck and the Framfield, Ridgewood and Tickerage streams.
The warning is at the lowest level and property is not thought to be in danger.
The agency said: “During the day there has been 8mm of rain in the Buxted area. River levels on the upper part of Uck have risen in response this and the Uck will peak at Buxted at about 6:30 pm.
“We expect there to be some flooding to fields and low lying land around the river, especially in the Buxted area.
“We do not expect there to be any flooding of property. There are some more showers expected this evening but not as heavy as during this afternoon. By about 10pm the rain will have cleared. There is very little rainfall forecast for Sunday, so we expect river levels to start dropping during the night.”
