Chris, 40, works for a US-based company which manufactures robots for the semiconductor industry.

He lives in Ridgewood, is married to Sally, and they have two children Charlie, 15, and Esme, 13.

Chris took up cycling about nine years ago. His first ride was to Framfield and back “which nearly killed me” but he persevered and has done some longer distance rides over the past three years including the South Downs Way and the Coast to Coast.

More recently he has also taken up running, completing his first half-marathon this year, and triathlon. He has tackled two sprints, which include 750m swim, 20km cycle, 5k run, and one Olympic which includes 1500m swim, 40km cycle and 10k run.

The London to Paris cycle route covers about 300 miles and Chris is hoping to raise a minimum of £1,500.

Chris said: “CF is my chosen charity as they do great work for a debilitating genetic disease.”
