Uckfield events – festival planning, themed dining and Remembrance

From a day of planning for Uckfield Festival 2020 to a night of Spanish-themed dining, and Remembrance events too, there’s a lot going on in and around Uckfield this weekend.

The festival planning event takes place tomorrow (Saturday) at Bridge Cottage where coffee is being served from 10am with the AGM taking place at 11am. All are welcome to attend.

Spanish-themed dining is on offer at The Grove Farmhouse Cafe at Blackboys tomorrow night and you can book your place by calling 01825 890415.

Also tomorrow there’s a Deep Yoga and Oriental Healing workshop at Uckfield Yoga Studio, and a Saturday Social at Sussex Support Service for people living with dementia.

The Tannahill Weavers will be in concert at Uckfield Civic Centre and the ticket price has now been reduced to £10. To book yours please contact Graham Pope on 09947 275684 or email gpevents@hotmail.com.

On Sunday morning a Remembrance Service will start at St Bartholomew’s Church, Maresfield,at 10.30am.

Officers from 5 (Maresfield) Squadron, 11 (Royal School Signals) Signals Regiment will march from the Manor House in Maresfield Park to take part.

Uckfield Remembrance Parade and Service takes place on Sunday afternoon with the parade leaving Luxford Field Car Park at 2.35pm and the service starting at 3pm.

A workshop about essential oils – Oily Witch workshop with Claire – take place at Uckfield Yoga Studio on Sunday too. It will run from 1-3pm.

During the week

There is chance to ‘Get Crafty’ at The Grove Cafe and Community Hub in Blackboys on Monday morning from 10am and chat while you work.

And Universal Dance is organising a Jeffrey Daniel Dance Master Classes at the Cinque Ports Club in Uckfield on Monday evening. There will be sessions for beginners, 7+, and advanced dancers, 13+).

On Tuesday you are invited to Elevenses at The Grove in Blackboys where you can get together with others in the community and make new friends.

Primary schools are offering tours for children who will be aged four and above and starting school in September 2020. This week Fletching, Framfield, Blackboys, Buxted, St Mark’s at Hadlow Down, and Rocks Park Primary School are opening their doors.

Next weekend

On Saturday, November 16, Holy Cross Primary School is hosting a Pirate Party for prospective pupils starting school in September 2020, there’s a Craft and Artisan Market at Bridge Cottage, and a one-day beginners picture framing course organised by Uckfield Framing Company.

Also on Saturday you can learn how to take care of your back at a Back Care with Sarah Bristow workshop at Uckfield Yoga Centre, and during the evening the Harcourt Ensemble will perform ‘A Concert in Vauxhall Gardens’ at Bridge Cottage.
