Uckfield dog walkers brave the rain for Comic Relief

Update on Monday, March 2: A dog walk organised by SLM Toyota, Uckfield, on Saturday in aid of Comic Relief raised £270 on the day and there’s more sponsorship money to come in.

This brings the total raised by SLM Toyota for Comic Relief to £270 and there’s another event on Wednesday when staff will spin-bike their way from London to Paris, 213 miles in all, without leaving the showroom. Supporters are welcome.

Our original story on Saturday, February 28: Hardy dog walkers set out in the rain this morning on a four-and-a-half mile expedition around Uckfield to raise funds for Comic Relief.

About 15 dogs of all shapes, sizes and ages gathered with their owners at SLM Toyota where the walk started.

They headed out to cross fields and walk through woodland before returning to the car dealership on the Bellbrook Estate where refreshments awaited both dogs and owners.

While they were away there was the chance to have their cars washed by SLM Toyota staff at £5 a time to boost the fund-raising.

Meet some of the dogs and their owners below. Click on one of the pictures to enlarge it and scroll through them.
