Uckfield Coronavirus updates – Wednesday, May 20

Businesses are beginning to emerge from lockdown as the Government relaxes some restrictions while others continue to operate online. Here’s the latest news from Uckfield area organisations.

Mansell McTaggart reopens

Mansell McTaggart in Uckfield is open again for pre-arranged appointments following the Government’s announcement about kickstarting the housing market after lockdown.

Meanwhile, directors remain available on the normal phone numbers and email addresses.

The company says that if you’re considering selling your property, or putting your property back on the market now is a good time to get the ball rolling.

It says: “There has been a noticeable increase in visitors to rightmove.co.uk and mansellmctaggart.co.uk in the last few days.

“People are beginning to think again about their next move, so getting your property online for all this pent-up demand could be a smart move.

“And if you’ve been busy sprucing up your house and garden, our photographers are champing at the bit to take photos now it’s springtime.

“We’ll be only too happy to talk to you about how best to get your property (back) on the market, so please do get in touch whenever you’re ready.

“If you’re buying and see a property you like please call us and we will ask the sellers if they are happy to let you and us visit.”

Mansell McTaggart says that in all instances its team will follow the Government’s guidelines, such as keeping a distance from others, and touching as few surfaces as possible. Click here to see the company’s guidelines in more detail.

The estate agents add: “Although it’s clear we are all going to have to get used to new ways of buying and selling property over the next few weeks, it’s also clear what an important part property-sales play in the economy, and we look forward to playing our part in its recovery.”

Yoga studio launches online Gentle Years course

Grace Annand from Uckfield Yoga Studio is offering a Gentle Years chair class online at 11am tomorrow, Thursday, May 20.

Grace says it will be for anyone who would like to practice without being on the floor or even if you would like a gentler class.

She adds: “Please come and join me for an hour of breathing, moving and relaxing. You need a dining chair, an email address and an open mind and I need six people so if you know anyone who might be interested please share this information.”

Grace says that when the yoga studio does reopen – she is optimistically hoping that will be in July –  social distancing measures will be in place and a booking system will be added to the website to ensure people can “be together but not too close”.

She says a big thank you to everyone who has been coming along to online classes:  “Your support is very much appreciated and I hope it will benefit your well being as well as ensuring the studio can keep afloat until we are back to normal – whatever and whenever that is.”
