Uckfield College wins prestigious cup for second year running

Uckfield College has won the prestigious Wealden Cup for the second year running.

This challenging multidisciplinary competition started back in June 2018 with a University Challenge competition and finished with a fiercely fought debate in January.

Along the way students competed in football, netball  and Masterchef.

Excellent teamwork

Principal Hugh Hennebry said: “ It is an absolute joy to see our students demonstrating that with hard work, passion and resilience they can succeed.

“We love that the competition allows students to demonstrate a huge variety of skills and above all that with excellent teamwork and hard work they can thrive”.

The Uckfield Team consisted of:

University Challenge: Megan Lyne, Josh Mankelow, Lily Joyce, Robert Ross

Netball: Lizzie Moisan, Harriet Cox, Caitlin Mileham, Joanna Sippetts, Lily Cullip, Sophie Godbold, Sasha Coates, Sejal Patel-Roberts, Rosie Prince

Football: George Lofthouse, Alfie Smith, Harrison Smith, Tomek Baxter, Conor Mills, Jake Scholes, Zak Mansfield, Alex Ridler

Masterchef: Sophie Godbold, Louis Bissett, Chloe Cranfield and Milly Volkova

Debate: Aisha Collins, Lizzie Moisan, Max Clarke, Holly Peat, Rhiannon Hobby, Harry Maher.
