Uckfield College students support teacher as she plans 12-hour run

Uckfield College students are supporting one of their teachers as she prepares to run overnight for 12 hours to raise money for charity.

Year 12D have set up a Just Giving Page and are creating as much of a ‘buzz’ as possible around the ‘Run for Crisis’ which will boost funds of Crisis, a charity for the homeless.

Mrs Sam Alvarez hopes to clock up 60 miles on the night of Saturday, December 8, and her form are hoping to raise £500.

All Year 12s at the college are fund-raising at the moment and other efforts include a tombola and sponge-a-teacher.

12D also plan to hold an arm-wrestling event and cake sale on Crisis Day which is Tuesday, November 27.

Students will be with Mrs Alvarez when she begins her run at 8pm on Saturday, December 8, and back again when she finishes at 8am on Sunday, December 9. Some are hoping join her for a circuit or two.

Mrs Alvarez aims to complete six ten-mile loops around Eastbourne, starting at the bandstand on the seafront, and then departing from there every two hours, 8pm, 10pm, midnight …

All are welcome to join her for one, or as many loops as you wish. You can run or cycle. Read more on the JustGiving page where all donations for Crisis will be gratefully received.
