Uckfield college ordered to pay thousands for copyright infringement

Uckfield Community Technology College has been ordered to pay £23,000 for infringement of copyright.

In a Patents County Court order dated October 25 it was found that the college was liable for infringing the copyright of SSER Ltd following publication of “certain copyright materials” on its website.

It was ordered to pay £23,000, inclusive of damages and the claimant’s costs of the proceedings, and publish a specified statement on its website for a period of six months. The statement can be seen on the website under notices.

The statement says: “In a Patents County Court order dated 25th of October 2012, it was found that Uckfield Community Technology College was liable for infringing the copyright of SSER Limited following the publication of certain copyright materials on this website.
