Uckfield College looks forward to move into new building

Uckfield College is looking forward to moving into its new building ready for the start of the new term in September.

There were hopes of offering a tour of the old building to ex-students and the community before it is demolished but that is no longer possible because of Covid-19 restrictions.

The college says it realises this will be disappointment for many but it is sure everyone will understand that it is unable to invite visitors onto the site.

“We will do our best to create a short video tour of the old building that can we can share on our website,” said a spokesperson.

The two- and three-storey building nearing completion is on a former rugby pitch adjacent to Downsview Crescent.

Two storeys meet three storeys in the new Uckfield College building which runs parallel to Downsview Crescent.

There are also plans to put up another new building to the south of the site next to the Pamphilon Theatre and provide a new full-sized rugby pitch and multi-use games area in the centre of the school site.
