Uckfield civil engineers C J Thorne & Co have been shortlisted for two awards.
One, is for Best Construction Project in the South East Construction Awards, for flood improvement works at Bayham Lake, in Kent, and the other is in the Business of the Year category at the East Sussex Business Awards.
The £1.8 million project at Bayham Lake involved building a new 10m wide reinforced concrete spillway on the northern end of the lake embankment and also a downstream spillway channel and a new reinforced concrete access road bridge spanning the spillway.
Managing director Chris Thorne said: “We are delighted to have been short-listed for this prestigious award, which is due recognition for an outstanding civil engineering project. Congratulations to Jim, Guy, Danny, and all involved.”
He said they were also pleased to be shortlisted for the Business of the Year Award.
