Uckfield Chamber sponsored an award for education, training and motivation and this was presented to Furniture Now by Uckfield Chamber vice-president Chris Lawson, of Lawson Commercial.

Mr Lawson said afterwards: “It was a fascinating evening and showcased the high level of expertise and innovation available in this part of sussex.

“Bearing in mind this was the first year of these awards there was a good turnout and the organisers hope to build on this in future years.

“A particular highlight for me of the evening was the appearance of the Wurlitzer organ during dinner. This is apparently Europe’s largest Wurlitzer theatre organ. It rose up from under the stage and there was a short concert.”
