Congratulations to Jacqueline Hardaway, managing director at Dawson Hart solicitors, who made her first speech recently after taking on the role as president of Sussex Law Society.

Specsavers staff sell cupcakes for charity
Specsavers staff made cupcakes last month and then sold them to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society.
They joined in national Cupcake Day after being inspired by training received as Dementia Friends.

More Dementia Friends at Uckfield Picture House
Staff at The Picture House, Uckfield, have been trained as Dementia Friends too and dementia-friendly screenings are held in the cinema now too.
The special screenings are more relaxed with the lights brighter, and the sound lower.

Simmons Gainsford raises funds for charity
Accountants Simmons Gainsford raised funds for charity through helping to organise a rounders match and barbecue.
Other business people were invited to join them for the evening and £300 was raised for Chailey Heritage Foundation.

Spotlight on Rowland Gorringe
Uckfield News turned the spotlight on the team at Rowland Gorringe estate agents last month.
The business is the longest established estate agency in Uckfield and the only independently run one to combine sales and lettings.

W E Clark and Son celebrates 200 years of business
Prosecco and gin and tonic were offered as the Uckfield branch of jewellers W E Clark and Son celebrated the company’s 200 year anniversary.
The Uckfield store opened in November 2017 but the business started long before that in Lewes.

Mortgage Advice Bureau is celebrating the opening of new offices in Hailsham.
The business was launched in Uckfield by Grant Wagner and Katherine Gibbs, expanded with premises in Crowborough and Tunbridge Wells and Hailsham will be their central head office.

The quality of customer service at Peter Oliver estate agents in Uckfield was recognised when they won gold in the British Property Awards for the second year running.
Mystery shoppers praised the team for the way they responded firstly to emails and then phone enquiries.
