An Uckfield boy is starring alongside the actress Scarlett Johansson in a film due to be released next month.
Roman Griffin Davies plays the role of a Hitler Youth, Jojo Betzler in Jojo Rabbit, while Scarlett Johansson plays his mother.
A special screening of the film was held at The Picture House, Uckfield, on Sunday and Roman was there to introduce it.
He also chatted to cinema owner Kevin Markwick, in front of an audience of Picture House members.
Roman is used to this as he has been promoting the film around the world alongside Scarlett Johansson, Sam Rockwell and Taika Waititi, who directed the film and who played Jojo’s imaginary friend, Adolf Hitler, in it.
Roman has been watching films at the Picture House since he was two years old and before he introduced his film on Sunday he watched Knives Out there with his family.
The Picture House also enabled a special screening of Jojo Rabbit for Roman, and his friends, and family, in November.
Satirical black comedy
Jojo Rabbit is a satirical black comedy where Roman’s character Jojo Betzler finds out his mother is hiding a Jewish Girl (Tomasin McKenzie) in their attic.
He must question his beliefs, while dealing with the intervention of his imaginary friend, Adolf Hitler.
Another young star Alfie Yates, who is also local, plays Yorki, Jojo’s best friend. His grandparents attended the special members screening on Sunday.
