Uckfield’s Blues and Roots Festival which was due to take place in October has been cancelled.
One of the organisers Graham Pope said he was disappointed to make the announcement but current obstacles and continuing uncertainty around live music events, particularly those indoors, made it impossible to continue.
He will be arranging refunds for those who have already booked tickets.
The festival had already been postponed from July in the hope that Coronavirus restrictions would ease in time for October but it wasn’t to be.
Other gigs have also been cancelled. They include:
The Diana Dilveira/Rainbreakers gig set for October 9 at the Civic Centre and the Zoe Schwarz Blue Commotion/Stevie Watts Organ Trio with Alice Armstrong gig set for September 27 at the Highlands Inn have also been cancelled.
The Martyn Joseph gig for November 15, and the Saints & Sinners gig for November 27 both at the Civic Centre still remain as possibilities and if things look better by the end of September tickets will then go on sale via the wegottickets website.
Graham said: “W shall be inviting all of the 2020 festival line up to play in 2021 when the festival will run from July 23 to 25. Who knows, if things are more settled next year, we may even add something extra.
“Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope that by next year there will be a vaccine for Covid-19 and things will return to some normality and we will be able to enjoy our best ever festival.
“Thanks once again for all your support.”
