Uckfield area riders enjoy success with British tentpegging team

Three people from the Uckfield area were members of the British Tentpegging team who returned from championships in India with two bronze medals.

Rachel Imber from Framfield, Sarah King, a teacher at Uckfield Community Technology College and Tina Ricketts-Smith from Blackboys competed in the World Tentpegging Championships against teams from 17 countries.

The event involves riding horses at a gallop while picking up ‘tent pegs’ from the ground or rings suspended from gallows with both lance and sword.

Thanks to Rachel Imber for the team and action photographs.
