Uckfield area pupils to meet children’s author Christopher Hill

Uckfield area pupils will be meeting an author shortly.

The scheme is part of the annual East Sussex Children’s Book Awards which will see see 50 schools take part in reading five shortlisted titles, writing book reviews and meeting the shortlisted authors.

County councillor Chris Dowling, whose electoral Division includes Ridgewood, and is the lead member for community services, said: “The children’s book award is now in its ninth year and never fails to capture the imagination of children.

“Meeting the authors really brings these books to life, allowing the children to learn about their lives and their inspiration, and will hopefully contribute to a love of literature which will last into adult life.”

Framfield CE School will host one of the authors on February 25 – Christopher Hill, author of Osbert the Avenger. Among the other schools attending the event are St Mark’s CE School, Hadlow Down; Blackboys Primary, Little Horsted CE Primary and Rocks Park Primary, Uckfield.
