Wealden district Covid-19 deaths

Ten more Wealden people have died in circumstances where Covid-19 was a factor, according to the latest figures.

Yesterday’s data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) showed eight people died in hospital; one in an hospice; and one in another ‘communal establishment’.

The figure is half the figure we reported a week ago and a third of the total reported a fortnight ago.

Covid-19 deaths this year in Wealden now total 222.

The number of cases in the Uckfield area and across Wealden continues to decline. See our report from Monday.

Notes:

These figures show the number of deaths involving coronavirus (Covid-19), based on any mention of Covid-19 on the death certificate.

The Wealden deaths occurred up to February 19 but were registered up to February 27. The area deaths are up to the end of January.

The different Uckfield areas have similar populations and are districts as defined by the ONS.
