Uckfield Anderida chose to bowl first on a green and slow wicket and were unlucky not to make the early breakthrough, with many edges falling just short of the slips and wicketkeeper.
They did get there eventually though, through Al Cutinha, whose short ball was caught down at fine leg, writes David Tungate.
Uckfield then took wickets on a regular basis, with Cutinha finishing with 3-50 and Andy Turner finishing with 3-18. Chiddingly declared on 222-9.
Uckfield’s chase started off slowly but without losing wickets. Then, after three wickets fell consecutively, Chiddingly were looking good for the win.
But with some help from Ed Watson (29), Matt McCallum scored his fifty to get Uckfield close to Chiddingly’s total. But once he fell, Paul Iswariah (26 not out) batted well with the lower order to get as many points as possible, and they secured a draw finishing on 191-9, getting 17 points.
