On winning the toss, Uckfield elected to bowl. Brady’s tight lines, coupled with some loose strokes from the Bells Yew Green top order meant that Uckfield were well on top with the score at 53-6, writes Anderida captain Joe Burns.
An aggressive innings from Vishal Pundir (45) was riddled with clean striking and dropped catches before Matt Reed finally held on to one at cover.
Turner’s spell of controlled swing took care of the tail and Uckfield were set a target of 119 to win.
Holman and Reed set about the chase in aggressive fashion, with Holman in particular looking very strong through the off side.
However, after the loss of Holman and Tungate in quick succession, it was left to Reed and Turner to rebuild the innings.
They did so with aplomb, and while neither was able to see it through to the end, they took Uckfield to a position where they were nigh on assured of victory. Will Taylor capped off a fine personal day in the field with a quickfire 16* to take Uckfield home.
