The Rotterdam team will also be playing Hellingly, Haywards Heath and Newick during the next week, reports the local club.

In an entertaining 35 over game the visitors scored 218, with Joe Burns and Anthony Muggeridge taking three wickets each, Uckfield taking five excellent catches.

UACC were all out for 178, four balls short of completing the 35 overs for a draw. Joe Burns and Ed Watson scored half centuries as the home team chased a difficult target.

The tourists showed that cricket is alive and well in Holland and proved to be friendly and sporting opponents.

The ‘Bails’ stayed after the game for a barbecue revealing Holland’s capacity for eating, drinking and enjoying themselves. It is greatly hoped the fixture will be repeated in 2017 when they next tour.

Willingdon stroll to victory against Uckfield Anderida 1st Team

Uckfield batted first on a slow, bowler friendly track after losing the toss. And were going well, with many of the top order getting starts, but sadly not going on to make a big score.

Morton (17), McCallum (18) and Turner (18) all looked good before sadly departing.

With good spin bowling from both ends, Willingdon took wickets at regular intervals, and eventually bowled Uckfield out for 127, off 48 overs.

Willingdon’s openers came out looking to be positive, and Dan Phillips forced a caught and bowled opportunity early on, but unfortunately could not take the chance. After that Willingdon knocked the runs off comfortably. Other than that, a chanceless innings took place, and Willingdon strolled to victory off 22 overs.
