Two-way traffic resumes in Uckfield High Street

Two-way traffic resumed in Uckfield High Street this morning (September 3) just after 11am.

After a series of photographs were taken at the High Street near Boots, workmen removed the last of the barriers.

As the lights went green there was some hestitation from motorists before one realised the road was once again open northbound.

The driver crossed over to cheers from the crowd on the pavement.

The High Street has been closed northbound since Sunday, February 21.

Wealden MP Nush Ghani, along with county, district and town councillors were present to see the re-opening, along with the president of Uckfield Chamber of Commerce, Bernard Smith.
