Two jobs are available at Sussex Support Service which provides care and support in Uckfield for people with conditions such as dementia and mental health illness.
The organisation is based at the Victoria Pavilion, Victoria Pleasure Ground, Uckfield, and has vacancies for a support worker and a passenger assistant.
The role of the support worker will include providing personal care to individual clients in accordance with an agreed care package, and following a weekly programme of activities for service users.
Qualifications needed include NVQ Care Level 2 or the ability to complete QCF Care Level 2/3 and it is essential that applicants are able to identify and assess needs and skills of clients.
The passenger assistant will be responsible for the care and conduct of any service users being transported to and from any service provision and ensuring that they are properly and safely supervised at all times.
Applicants will need basic literacy and numeracy skills and a caring and understanding attitude.

Sussex Support Service opened a day centre at the Victoria Pavilion in September where Margaret and her team work with people with dementia, Parkinsons, those who have had strokes, or who have mild memory problems, anyone with extra care needs or who would like to ‘get out of the house and have a bit of fun’.
