Tomorrow is deadline for Diamond Jubilee street closure applications

Tomorrow, April 25, is the deadline for applications for road closures if you are planning a Diamond Jubilee Street Party during the weekend of June 2-5.

The deadline has been set by Wealden District Council so that it can carry out the necessary consultation with the Emergency Services to make sure vital access is not impeded.

Applications for a road closure are free and forms can be downloaded from the Parking, Roads and Travel section of the council's website. Scroll to the bottom of the pages and see under the heading Key Documents.

Council chairman Cllr Jonica Fox said: “Wealden District Council wants to make it easy for our communities to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. We hope that as many neighbourhoods as possible will take this once in a lifetime opportunity to celebrate a historic event for the United Kingdom.”

* Are you planning to have a street party in Uckfield or surrounding villages? We would be interested to hear about your celebrations.
